With the appointment of Julie Kaczor as Principal of Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo, the school’s new leadership team is now in place.
In September, the Holy Angels board of trustees announced that Joan Thomas will become the new president/head of school on July 1, 2010. Thomas is retiring in June as superintendent of the Orchard Park Central School District.
“The Board of Trustees is very excited about our new leadership platform and the team we have in place. We are confident that their commitment to educational excellence and the Catholic spiritual formation of our students, in the tradition of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and Saint Marquerite d’Youville will ensure the continued success of Holy Angels Academy” stated Board Chair Michael Pratt.
Kaczor has worked in education as a teacher and administrator. She taught at St. Bonaventure School in West Seneca and was principal of St. Martin of Tours School in Buffalo. She worked in administration at Transit Middle School in the Williamsville School District and most recently she was the assistant principal of both Ellicott Elementary and Windom Elementary schools in the Orchard Park Central School District.
“This is an extraordinary time for Holy Angels Academy; a renaissance in Catholic education,” Kaczor said. “We are committed to providing an excellence in the field of education that is relevant and meaningful to the young woman of today. It is my goal to deliver a challenging and nurturing differentiated instructional program that empowers each graduate of Holy Angels to lead in our society with confidence, grace and integrity.”
Kaczor earned a bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a master of science in Education degree from Canisius College and a master of science in education, educational leadership from St. Bonaventure University. Kaczor is certified by New York State as a school administrator and supervisor; school district administrator, school business administrator and school teacher. She is a member of Our Mother of Good Counsel in Blasdell.
“I looked forward to collaborating with Julie who I know as a consummate, highly qualified professional. Having worked together in Orchard Park, I know we share the common goal of encouraging our students at the Academy to become lifelong learners and to reach their maximum potential,” stated Joan Thomas, President/Head of School.
